SWANTON PLANNING COMMISSION

DRAFT MINUTES

Monday January 6, 2025

Town Office Building

1 Academy Street, Swanton, VT

5:00 p.m.

Present: Ross Lavoie-Chair, Jim Pratt, Andy LaRocque-Members, Christina Candels-Assistant Town Administrator, Corey Parent, Earl Fournier, Allen Letourneau

Zoom: Oliver Manning

Absent: Heather Buczkowski

1. Call to Order

Mr. Lavoie called the meeting to order at 5:01 pm.

2. Agenda Review

Mr. Lavoie reviewed the agenda.

3. Review minutes of December 9, 2024

Mr. Pratt made a motion to approve the Minutes of December 9, 2024, as written, seconded by Mr. LaRocque. Motion carried.

4. Public Comment

Mr. Fournier came as a member of the Selectboard to share his comments and suggestions after reading the draft of the Bylaw & Land Use Development Regulations the Planning Commission has been working on.  

Mr. Fournier wanted to confirm the New State housing regulations are included and they are.

Mr. Fournier also asked how they addressed corner lots and if the New Town Road Takeover Policy should be referenced.

The Planning Commission discussed enforcement when it comes to bylaw and regulations. Mr. Fournier agreed the is something the Selectboard needs to address. This will be discussed at a future meeting.

5. Land Use & Development Regulations Review

6. Set the next Planning Commission Meeting

January 22, 2025, at 5 pm. The Planning Commission will invite the Selectboard and the Village Trustees to this meeting.

7. Any Other Necessary Business

None

8. Adjournment

Mr. Pratt made a motion to adjourn at 7:20 pm, seconded by Mr. LaRocque. Motion carried.
