Abenaki community members are invited to two conversations in partnership with the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi and facilitated by the Franklin County Natural Resources Conservation District (NRCD). Both workshops will take place at the Abenaki Tribal Council Headquarters at 100 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT 05488.
Participants will lead discussions on their priorities, needs, and concerns on the following topics: water quality, habitat, recreation, and access in their community. From these discussions, we hope to create a list of future projects that create real benefits identified by and for members of the Abenaki community. The Franklin County NRCD will then collaborate with community members to find funding, resources, and assistance to move these ideas forward into action.
Each participant will receive a $45 stipend per event. Childcare services and travel stipends are available, as well as interpretation services upon request. Please let us know if you require any of these services in advance. Dinner will be provided! All are welcome to participate.
When: Friday, March 14th from 6-8pm; Friday, April 18th from 6-8pm Where: Abenaki Tribal Council Headquarters, 100 Grand Avenue, Swanton
