INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE SWAN POND RENOVATION
Hello everyone, I sincerely meant to post this a few weeks ago but had a medical challenge. I am here now to fill you all in with what is going on with the Swan Pond. For some time now the pond liner has been deteriorating and the swan shed was falling apart and also needed to be replaced. I can't tell you how many times I have smacked my head as I stooped to get into the shed to feed them. As the principal swan keeper, I knew we had to do something. NO TAX PAYER MONEY WAS USED IN THIS RENOVATION. I knew if we were going to do this, we could not ask taxpayers to foot the bill for any of it. Donations of time, money and supplies were received by generous people and organizations. ARPA funds and earned interest were used to pay for liner and filtration system. The donated new shed will have a side door to enter instead of accessing from the front opening. When all is said and done a plaque will be made to thank those who contributed to the renovations. The pond is 6 ft wider and will be a little deeper with a larger grassy area. For the first time ever, the water will be filtered to keep it clean.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Washburn
