Swanton Village Police Department activity related to traffic and drug enforcement since 2022. During 2022 the Swanton Village Police Department performed 401 traffic stops. Additionally, we found that some traffic stops were listed as the call type motor vehicle complaint of which there were 146 in 2022. As of this update on September 20, 2023, we have initiated 306 motor vehicle stops and investigated 102 motor vehicle complaints. Our other priority has been addressing the drug problem with a holistic approach focusing on both treatment and drug enforcement. We are familiar with subjects that are involved in drug use and distribution and prefer that people who suffer from substance use disorder seek treatment. We will assist in connecting people with services and people should not fear criminal prosecution if they come to us seeking help. However, if people house individuals involved in drug distribution they should expect a thorough, aggressive enforcement response from SVPD and our partners in state and federal law enforcement. 01/20/2022 Consent Search Meadow Lane related to drug activity.

08/18/2022 Search Warrant executed on Gallup Court related to an Aggravated Assault case resulting in the arrest of a subject from Swanton, VT.

10/26/2022 Search Warrant executed on York Street related to a Fraud case (7-month Investigation) resulting in the arrest of a subject from Swanton, VT.

11/22/2022 Search Warrant executed on Spring Street related to a Fraud case resulting in the arrest of a subject from Highgate, VT.

11/23/2022 Search Warrant executed on Grand Avenue related to a Fraud case resulting in the arrest of a subject from Swanton, VT.

12/02/2022 Search Warrant executed on Grand Avenue related to Drug Distribution resulting in the arrest of a subject from Springfield, MA and a subject from Highgate, VT. 9.5 grams of cocaine base seized.

12/27/2022 Traffic Stop from a known Drug Distribution location and 01/04/2023 Search Warrant executed on a vehicle seized from Frontage Rd resulting in the arrest of a subject from the Bronx, NY and $6100 and 115 grams of cocaine base seized.

01/19/2023 Search Warrant executed on a vehicle resulting in 57 grams of cocaine base, 5 firearms, several knives and digital scales seized. The Swanton resident subsequently fled the state of Vermont, and an arrest warrant has been issued by the Court.

01/23/2023 Second Search Warrant on a vehicle related to the above case.

01/27/2023 Search Warrant on Main St. in Enosburg related to Drug Distribution resulted in the arrest of two individuals from Taunton, MA. $6032, 41 grams of cocaine base, multiple digital scales, 2 machine gun conversion devices and 5 firearms were seized including a stolen firearm.

01/25/2023 Search Warrant on Dunning Street related to Drug Distribution and related to the Search Warrants from 01/19/2023 and 01/23/2023. One of the subjects distributing narcotics from this location was Zaquikon Roy from Brooklyn, NY who was subsequently arrested in Maine for a homicide on 06/04/2023 in Leicester, VT.

03/03/2023 Search Warrant on Virginia Lane resulting in the arrest of two subjects from Springfield, MA. $1850, 13 grams of cocaine base and 73 bags of heroin/fentanyl seized.

03/09/2023 Search Warrant executed on Covey Drive related to Drug Distribution. Two Blood gang members from Jersey City, NJ were stopped leaving the residence just prior to the Search Warrant and their federal probation was revoked.

05/18/2023 Traffic Stop on Grand Avenue resulted in the seizure of 520 bags of Heroin/Fentanyl and .5 grams of cocaine base. A St. Albans, VT resident was arrested.

05/30/2023 A Search Warrant executed on the vehicle related to the traffic stop above resulted in the seizure of 29 Suboxone strips and an unidentified crushed pill in a wrapper.

06/28/2023 Traffic Stop on St. Albans Road resulted in the seizure of a vehicle and 5 civil traffic tickets.

07/06/2023 Search Warrant executed on the above vehicle resulted in the seizure of 2 grams of cocaine base, 2.4 grams of Heroin/Fentanyl, a container with several pills, an LSD strip, a firearm, and drug paraphernalia including Meth/Crack pipes, silicon containers, and digital scales. A subject from St. Albans, VT was arrested.

08/30/2023 Traffic Stop on S. River Street in Swanton resulted in the seizure of 18 grams of cocaine base, 20 bags of Heroin/Fentanyl and the vehicle. A resident of St. Albans, VT was arrested.

09/05/2023 Search Warrant executed on E. Alburgh Rd. related to Drug Distribution. 25 grams of cocaine, 13.8 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized. The homeowner, an Alburgh, VT resident was arrested.

09/08/2023 Search Warrant executed on the vehicle seized on 08/30/2023. 4.1 grams of cocaine base and a stolen firearm were located in the vehicle.
